1.  Air Force Village West rolled back entry fees to the year 2003: a $30,000 to $40,000 savings that helped defray costs or losses like the reduction in home price or commissions and closing costs.

2.  Air Force Village West now also offers longer extensions on move in dates.  In some cases we have held a home beyond the normal 60 days, going as far as 6 months. 
                                               
3.  Air Force Village West has other options, such as while your home is in escrow, you may move in and hold off on the final payment until escrow closes.

4.  Another option would be to move in, leaving your home on the market.  In this case you would pay a small down payment, sign a note with minimal interest and upon the sale of your home you would retire your note with escrow proceeds.  There are no penalties or fees for early retirement.

5.  One other solution that has worked for some residents is to turn their home over to an agency for rental.  Rental monies help defray AFVW monthly service fees while you reside at AFVW.  When the housing market turns around you can then sell your home and execute payment of your contract.
