AIR FORCE VILLAGE WEST

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS

IN MEMORY OF
GENERAL CURTIS E. LEMAY, USAF RET

Who, with his wife Helen, showed remarkable vision, dedication and perseverance in their
singular role in the establishment of retirement facilities for the uniformed service officers,
their spouses and widows of officers. The Air Force Village's will serve as a living tribute
to a legendary Airman whose first and foremost rule was always:

"TAKE CARE OF THE TROOPS FIRST" --  AND HE DID.

COL. A. L. (BUD) GUIDERA, USAF RET

Col. Guidera will always hold a very special place in the history of AFVW.
He was the first President of AFVW and his vision, tenacious efforts, and indomitable faith in the future of the Village earned him continuing respect and gratitude.
AFVW was his dream, and he made it come true.

BRIGADIER GENERAL CHARLES W. LAMB, USAF RET

General Lamb from the very beginning, worked on every phase of the AFVW project.
He was responsible for the engineering and architectural designs. He also worked tirelessly
for the procurement of the land.  Without his efforts and hard work,
AFVW would not have happened.

He now serves as President of AFVW.
